Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taishi Mori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rashad Evans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taishi Mori! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A chopping leg kick lands by Mori. Mori throws a sloppy head kick and Evans counters with a nice leg kick. Mori tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The fight stays on the outside here - Evans looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mori looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Mori looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Mori throws a half hearted mid kick. Evans takes the fight into the clinch. Evans lands a body shot in the clinch.
Mori has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Evans avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Evans works on Mori's body with a couple of short punches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Evans with a knee to the head.
It looks like Taishi Mori has been cut. Mori lands a good knee to the midsection. Evans won't want to take too many of those. Evans gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Evans with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Evans misses with a hook to the ribs.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Evans. Mori takes an elbow to the forehead. Evans lands an elbow inside that Mori shrugs off. Nice elbow from Evans.
That has opened up Taishi Mori's cut even more.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans misses with an elbow over the top. Evans lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Mori looks winded! Mori takes an elbow to the temple. Evans scores with a knee to the head.
The cut above Taishi Mori's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Evans obliges. Evans landing knees to the body.
Evans lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Evans misses with a knee strike.

Taishi Mori's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Evans lands a body shot. Evans can't find room to land a body shot as Mori controls the action.
Evans tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mori avoids it. Mori tries to land knees in the clinch but Evans avoids the damage to the body. Mori has had enough of the clinch but Evans keeps him there for the moment. Evans comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Taishi Mori's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
