Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Neville Strickland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Alves is predictable there
and Alves takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Alves feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Strickland's calf.
Strickland dives in and grabs Alves's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alves pushes down on Strickland's head and hops out.
Alves misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Strickland.

and Strickland finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Strickland blocks a low kick nicely.
Alves throws a leg kick
enabling Strickland to counter with a crisp jab.
Strickland could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Strickland takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Alves looks to land a combination. Strickland sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Neville Strickland has been cut.
Alves misses with a combination
and Strickland counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Strickland ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alves moves away.
Alves misses with an attempted mid kick.
Alves buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alves tries to land a front kick but Strickland steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Strickland avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alves fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Strickland checks it well.
Strickland takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Alves fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Strickland on the side of the head.
Alves lands a big head kick that sends Strickland to the canvas! Alves follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex Alves!
