Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Helio Perrera!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perrera moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bob lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Perrera circles away quickly and effectively.
A punch combination from Bob misses.
Billy Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch lands to the side of Bob 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Perrera has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Bob lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Helio Perrera has been cut.
Bob has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Perrera gets a double leg takedown into Bob's guard.
Perrera is looking to work some ground and pound but Bob has wrist control.
Perrera has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Perrera trying to control the position from guard on top but Bob is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Perrera looking to sit in guard and control but Bob gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Perrera is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Perrera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bob defends it easily.

Perrera has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bob is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Perrera.

Perrera is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bob's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bob tries to stand but can't do so whilst Perrera controls his leg.
Perrera tries to get to full guard but Bob has control of the leg.
Perrera is still trying to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perrera is looking to control Bob's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Perrera avoid being mounted?

Perrera flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Perrera regains full guard. Nicely done.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Perrera looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bob passes into side control.
Bob content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perrera moves forwards but Bob connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Perrera throws out a leg kick but Bob moves out of range and Perrera only half commits.
Perrera showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bob.
Bob throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Perrera swings for the body but Bob moves out of range.
Billy Bob is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bob fails to land with a series of punches.
Bob takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Bob throws a combination that misses

and Perrera counters with a shoot takedown. Bob fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Perrera is in close to Bob's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Perrera throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bob works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Perrera throws a big elbow that misses.
Bob has momentary wrist control but Perrera slips an elbow through the middle.
Bob pulls Perrera in to control the position.
Bob keeping moving, preventing Perrera from controlling successfully.
Bob controls Perrera momentarily but Perrera frees himself.
Perrera advances position into side control!

Perrera trying to control the position but Bob is working away.
Perrera lands an elbow.
Perrera connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bob some visible discomfort.
Perrera throws a strike aimed at the side of Bob's head but Bob avoids it well.

Perrera throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Perrera creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Perrera working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
A lull in the action here.
Bob defending against the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Perrera working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Perrera has hold of Bob's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bob tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Perrera cranks the arm and Bob screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bob, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Helio Perrera!
