The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laprise looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pla wants to stand but Laprise is controlling the position.

Laprise wants to finish this one by submission but Pla is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Laprise.
Laprise is landing with some decent strikes but Pla is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Laprise jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pla manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Laprise tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Laprise is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pla knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Laprise has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pla is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Laprise yanks on the arm and Pla is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Laprise.
