Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Jamal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rufus Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rufus Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mohamed Jamal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rufus Lee!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee dives in for a single leg takedown but Jamal sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lee trying to control the position but instead, Jamal has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lee into the cage.
Lee wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Lee is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jamal gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lee is trying to force a seperation but Jamal has the dominant position.
Lee is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Jamal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lee's efforts to push away.

Jamal lands a takedown into guard.
Jamal will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lee is trying to control the position but Jamal postures up.

Jamal decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Lee is looking to clinch but Jamal is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lee tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jamal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Jamal.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jamal sprawls well. Jamal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lee gets slowly back to his feet.

Lee breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jamal connects with a nice looking jab.
The fighters circling - Lee throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Lee takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jamal.

Jamal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lee to the mat! Lee manages to get full guard.

Jamal postures up and lands a big shot to Lee's brow.
Jamal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jamal seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jamal decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lee is looking for a sweep. Jamal is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jamal shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Jamal's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rufus Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jamal but Jamal pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jamal shoots in looking for a takedown. Lee tries to sprawl out of it but Jamal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jamal has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lee avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jamal jumps guard and drags Lee to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Jamal postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lee to stand up.

Lee leaves Jamal with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lee lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jamal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jamal bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jamal seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lee for as long as he can get away with.
Jamal looks up at the clock and then as Lee takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jamal smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jamal wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy.
Lee tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jamal wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's time! Jamal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Jamal shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well.
Lee lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jamal circles away quickly and effectively.
Lee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lee slaps away a takedown attempt from Jamal, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lee wants to clinch but Jamal slips to the side
and Jamal counters with a slapping leg kick.

Jamal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lee avoids it really well and circles away.

Lee tries to bum rush Jamal with a series of wild strikes but Jamal uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Lee closes the distance and clinches up with Jamal, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes Jamal against the cage but Jamal circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jamal tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jamal to the ground. Jamal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.

Lee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mohamed Jamal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jamal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jamal is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Jamal connects with a couple of short punches.
Lee is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We're going to have a standup here because Mohamed Jamal wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Lee managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jamal.

Jamal is staying tight to Lee's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jamal, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
