Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harry Thurman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Quint! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid leg kick lands there for Quint.
Thurman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Quint sprawls well. Quint wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thurman gets slowly back to his feet. Quint gets caught flat footed, as Thurman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Quint has his foot on Thurman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thurman works his way back into a safe position though. Quint escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thurman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've been hearing good reports from Thurman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Thurman advances position into side control! Quint is not content to let Thurman control the position. Quint prevents Thurman from improving position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thurman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Quint is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Thurman tries to move into full mount but can't pass Quint's legs. Quint is pushing Thurman's head away, looking to escape. Thurman manages to hold on to the position though. Thurman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Quint tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thurman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Thurman wants to take a breather but Quint manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Thurman. Thurman passes into half guard. Thurman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Quint! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Thurman throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Thurman working Quint over with strikes here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harry Thurman dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Danga de danga de dang - Quint scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Harry Thurman has been cut. Quint wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Thurman dives in and grabs Quint's left leg, looking for a takedown. Quint pushes down on Thurman's head and hops out. Quint lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Quint comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Thurman misses with an uppercut
and Quint counters with a stiff right hand.
Thurman is rocked! Harry Thurman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! and Quint counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Thurman! He's just covering up as Quint starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Quint! Sam Quint thanked the fans post fight for their support. In defeat, Harry Thurman stepped up to the mic, saying 'Damn i know i shouldn't have slept with a supermodel the night before the fight'.
