Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andy Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Penn!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns throws a body kick that misses.
A jab lands there for Penn.
Penn attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Penn cracks Burns with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Burns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Burns gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Penn.
Burns shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Penn sprawls well. Penn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Burns gets slowly back to his feet.
Jake Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns shoots in for a double leg but Penn sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Burns defending well as Penn loads up on a big left hand.
Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Burns tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Penn smiles and moves away.
Penn tries to work over Burns's front leg with a kick but Burns checks it.

Penn falls off balance throwing a combination
and Burns counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Penn takes a swing at Burns's ribcage but misses.
Burns misses the shot to the body.

Burns looking to score a takedown here. Penn is defending well but Burns drives through and ends up in Penn's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Penn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Burns drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burns jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Burns is breathing heavily.

Burns is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Penn wants to sweep but no luck.

Burns drops back looking for a leg! Penn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Penn manages to kick Burns off! Burns jumps back into Penn's guard.
Penn pulls Burns in close to prevent any damage.
Penn working a defensive guard but Burns manages to pass into side control anyway.
Penn struggling a bit here.

Penn tries to buck Burns off but Burns is having none of it.

Burns wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Penn, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Burns is trying to get an arm triangle but Penn is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Burns tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Burns has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Penn dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Burns looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Penn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Burns tries a head kick but it misses.
Burns blocks a low kick nicely.
Burns pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Burns takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Burns shoots in but Penn avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Burns shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Burns takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Burns takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Penn misses with a double jab.
Penn wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Penn is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Burns rather than just go for the knockout.
Penn misses with a few strikes there.
Penn tries to bum rush Burns with a series of wild strikes but Burns uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Burns throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A punch lands to the side of Burns 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Jake Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Burns takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Penn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Burns.

Burns shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Burns looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Burns is rocked!
Penn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Burns at a distance.
Burns's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Penn connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Burns scrambles back to his feet.
Oh Burns is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Penn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jake Penn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Penn Rushes Burns and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Burns is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Penn Piles on the pressure and Burns crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
