Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alec Olson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Mireles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Mireles! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olson tries to sprawl but Mireles drives through with a takedown into half guard. Olson is not content to let Mireles control the position. Olson is looking to improve his position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jose Mireles wasn't active enough on the ground. Olson misses with a takedown attempt - Mireles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mireles keeps the fight on the outside.

That was a close round but I would say that Alec Olson will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Olson is in close to Mireles's body, working some short punches and elbows. Olson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Olson throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jose Mireles was stalling too much, according to the referee. Excellent takedown into side control there by Olson. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mireles takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Olson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mireles down.

Alec Olson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Olson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mireles will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
