Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Glen Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Henderson!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henderson misses with a low kick.
Henderson tries to keep at a distance but Burns has taken the fight into the clinch.
Henderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Henderson circles away from the clinch attempt
and Henderson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Glen Burns has been cut.
Burns tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Henderson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Burns darts in and clinches Henderson up against the cage.
Henderson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Burns has him pressed against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Henderson breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Burns looks to clinch
enabling Henderson to counter with a crisp jab.
Burns moves to clinch but Henderson breaks away
and Henderson counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Burns off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Henderson follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Burns was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Chris Henderson!
