PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josef Urrah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Urrah has chosen Johnny Cash - Oney as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dirk Diggler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Josef Urrah!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've been informed that Urrah has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Diggler throws a lazy uppercut

and Urrah counters with a nice double leg into side control. Diggler won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Urrah prevents Diggler from escaping the position.

Urrah scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Diggler doesn't seem bothered though.

Urrah seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diggler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Urrah wants to work for an arm triangle but Diggler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Urrah wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diggler keeps working.
Urrah working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Diggler tightens his grip and picks Urrah up, before dumping him to the ground. Urrah manages to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diggler drops back, looking for a kneebar! Urrah looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Urrah looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Urrah!

Urrah bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Diggler's guard.

I've got Urrah winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
