Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Timur Ruslanov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, William Moody! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moody dodges the punch combination from Ruslanov.
Ruslanov fails with the takedown and Moody counters with a nice uppercut. Ruslanov drives through and clinches with Moody against the cage.
Ruslanov decides to pull guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ruslanov controls Moody momentarily but Moody frees himself. Moody loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ruslanov keeping full guard, as Moody tries to pass. Ruslanov is trying to control the position but Moody postures up. Ruslanov looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Ruslanov is trying to keep Moody in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Timur Ruslanov wasn't doing enough on the ground. Ruslanov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ruslanov with a poor takedown and Moody counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Moody. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timur Ruslanov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Moody is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ruslanov to keep the fight standing. Ruslanov wants to take the fight to the mat but Moody manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Moody has picked Ruslanov up - he's going for a ride! Moody dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Moody looks winded! Ruslanov wants to improve his position but Moody is controlling well.
Moody thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ruslanov is looking for a sweep. Moody is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ruslanov wants to get back to his feet. Moody slows the pace down in half guard. Ruslanov wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moody seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Moody not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ruslanov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Moody scores with a couple of nice shots. Ruslanov wants to get back to his feet.
Moody drops an elbow to the side of Ruslanov's head. Ruslanov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ruslanov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Moody is working away from the top position though. Ruslanov wants to get back to full guard. Ruslanov is not content to let Moody control the position. Ruslanov on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ruslanov is looking to control Moody's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ruslanov avoid being mounted? Ruslanov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ruslanov kicks Moody off and gets back to his feet. Ruslanov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Ruslanov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moody as he avoids it easily. Moody moves into the clinch. Moody manages to pull guard.
Ruslanov looking to pass the guard. Ruslanov looking to sit in guard and control but Moody gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ruslanov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Moody distracts Ruslanov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Moody landing some decent shots from guard. Ruslanov controls Moody momentarily but Moody frees himself. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ruslanov wants to stand up but Moody is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but William Moody will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Ruslanov misses with a takedown attempt and Moody counters by moving into the clinch. Ruslanov is defending well against a takedown attempt. Ruslanov is pressed up against the cage. Moody has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ruslanov down to the mat. Ruslanov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Moody tries to clinch up but Ruslanov circles away and keeps his distance. Ruslanov gets a takedown into half guard. Moody blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ruslanov. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruslanov decides to return to a standing position. Ruslanov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Moody defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timur Ruslanov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ruslanov shoots for a double leg takedown but Moody sprawls well. He's pushed Ruslanov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Moody closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ruslanov's guard. Ruslanov throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ruslanov is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruslanov wants to take a breather but Moody is having none of it. Ruslanov throwing shots but Moody is blocking nicely. Moody felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Moody is looking to control Ruslanov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Moody avoid being mounted? Ruslanov wants to stand up but Moody has a hold of him and won't allow it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Moody is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
OK we're going to have a standup here. William Moody hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Moody fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ruslanov darts in looking for a takedown but Moody gets double underhooks and turns Ruslanov into the cage. Ruslanov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Moody is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Ruslanov wants the takedown. Moody is fighting it off but Ruslanov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Moody's guard against the cage. Ruslanov looking to sit in guard and control but Moody gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ruslanov looking for a sweep. Not yet Ruslanov, not yet. Moody is in close to Ruslanov's body, working some short punches and elbows. Ruslanov looking to control.

Ruslanov is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Ruslanov looking for a guillotine here but Moody defends easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ruslanov is trying to keep Moody in close.

Timur Ruslanov dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Moody fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ruslanov, pushing him back against the cage. Moody gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ruslanov.
Ruslanov pulls guard. Moody pushing down on Ruslanov's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Ruslanov tries to roll over but Moody keeps him under control. Ruslanov makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ruslanov. Moody preventing the sweep. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Moody accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ruslanov keeping moving, preventing Moody from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Moody passes Ruslanov's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruslanov tries to kick Moody off but Moody keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Ruslanov slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Moody would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Ruslanov looking to control.
Ruslanov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Moody postures up.
Moody working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ruslanov's head. Ruslanov has his hands on Moody's head, controlling the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Timur Ruslanov. Jab, jab by Moody - just one landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruslanov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ruslanov is looking to clinch. Moody manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ruslanov on his heels. He'll look to pass Ruslanov's guard now, I'm sure. Ruslanov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Moody is controlling him. Moody missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ruslanov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Timur Ruslanov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ruslanov is working hard here to advance position. Ruslanov is looking to escape. Ruslanov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Moody is working away from the top position though. Moody slips a nice elbow through Ruslanov's hands, connecting with Ruslanov's forehead. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Moody scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ruslanov is trying to maintain the position but Moody is very close to passing his half guard. Moody is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ruslanov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Moody.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to William Moody. I think Moody has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
