Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jakob Silfversberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Wexler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wexler has chosen Go To Sleep - Eminem as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jakob Silfversberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Wexler!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wexler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silfversberg on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Wexler swings for the body but Silfversberg moves out of range.

Wexler shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silfversberg sprawls well. Silfversberg wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wexler gets slowly back to his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Silfversberg has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Silfversberg uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wexler.
Wexler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silfversberg pinned against the cage. Silfversberg gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wexler. Silfversberg does a little dance to reset his feet.

Wexler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silfversberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wexler wants to work for an arm triangle but Silfversberg is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Wexler is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Silfversberg moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wexler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Silfversberg manages to avoid it.

Silfversberg is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wexler gets his way!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Wexler takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
