Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Babandiishe Chimutengwende (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volkov has chosen Hindabuilding as his entrance music. Alexander Volkov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Babandiishe Chimutengwende! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexander Volkov! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chimutengwende tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Volkov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Babandiishe Chimutengwende seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Volkov leaves Chimutengwende with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Chimutengwende throws a looping overhand right but Volkov ducks down to avoid it. Volkov bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chimutengwende's head backwards. Chimutengwende tries to close the distance and clinch but Volkov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chimutengwende showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Volkov.
Volkov scores with a jab. Chimutengwende walks into a jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chimutengwende rushes Volkov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Chimutengwende is trying to break the clinch but Volkov is controlling him. Volkov tries to stall but Chimutengwende uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Chimutengwende jumps into guard, dragging Volkov to the mat.
Chimutengwende has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Volkov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Volkov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chimutengwende keeping moving, preventing Volkov from controlling successfully. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Chimutengwende is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Volkov frees his head nicely. Oh but Chimutengwende has switched to an armbar! Volkov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Babandiishe Chimutengwende! Alexander Volkov spoke after the fight, saying 'Well, tonight he was better than me.'.
