Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dieselnoi Chor Thanasukarn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sammer Bammer! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bammer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chor Thanasukarn manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Chor Thanasukarn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bammer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Chor Thanasukarn is looking to stand up but Bammer isn't so interested in that idea. Bammer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bammer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bammer stops Chor Thanasukarn from standing up. Bammer has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at The Barracks - LOD. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Bammer with a flurry of punches that miss. Bammer slips nicely into half guard. Bammer is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Chor Thanasukarn sees it coming and defends easily. Chor Thanasukarn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bammer on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bammer trying to control the action but Chor Thanasukarn is working from the bottom. Chor Thanasukarn is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bammer controlling the action here. Bammer in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Chor Thanasukarn tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Bammer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Sammer Bammer! A relieved looking Sammer Bammer thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
