Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryce Mckinney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Manuel Marquez!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mckinney enables Marquez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mckinney manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mckinney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Marquez being controlled here momentarily.
Marquez is looking to work some ground and pound but Mckinney has wrist control.
Marquez postures up in Mckinney's guard and throws a big left but Mckinney blocks it.
Mckinney looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marquez is one step ahead there.
Marquez wants to control from the top but Mckinney keeps moving.
Marquez throwing strikes but missing.
Mckinney has his hands on Marquez's head, controlling the position.
Mckinney is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mckinney looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Marquez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Marquez.
Mckinney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Marquez tries to strike from the bottom.
Mckinney has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mckinney has gone for a leg lock! Marquez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mckinney's guard.

Mckinney wants to sweep here but Marquez controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mckinney pulls Marquez in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bryce Mckinney.
Marquez works Mckinney's body with a nice hook.
Marquez wants to clinch.
Marquez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Marquez looking to score a takedown here. Mckinney is defending well but Marquez drives through and ends up in Mckinney's guard.
Mckinney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marquez on the ground.
Mckinney is adopting a defensive guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Marquez wants to control from the top but Mckinney keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mckinney looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marquez trying to control the position from guard on top but Mckinney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mckinney manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Mckinney breaks from the clinch.
Mckinney fails with a takedown attempt.
Mckinney circles away from the clinch attempt.

Marquez tries to close the distance and clinch but Mckinney swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marquez leaves Mckinney with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Marquez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mckinney moves into full guard.
Mckinney has a closed guard, preventing Marquez from standing up.
Manuel Marquez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Marquez looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mckinney seems keen to control Marquez's posture.

Mckinney working for a triangle but Marquez defends it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Marquez trying to control but Mckinney is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Mckinney gets caught napping as Marquez dives in and scores a takedown. Mckinney manages to retain guard.
Mckinney keeping moving, preventing Marquez from controlling successfully.
Mckinney manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Marquez tries to lock up and control but Mckinney gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mckinney lands with some strikes.
Mckinney putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Mckinney takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Marquez tries to hold on but Mckinney pushes him away.
Mckinney lands with some strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Marquez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mckinney controlling the position easily from mount.

Marquez has left one of his arms exposed and Mckinney doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Marquez screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
