Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Irvin Morgan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Butch McGoo! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGoo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Morgan. McGoo cracks Morgan with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Morgan looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can McGoo finish him?
It looks like Irvin Morgan has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McGoo tries to clinch but Morgan moves out of range. McGoo wants to slow Morgan down by chopping away at his legs. Morgan shoots in for a takedown but McGoo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McGoo misses with a head kick.

McGoo throws a lazy head kick and Morgan counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Morgan fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Irvin Morgan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Morgan stuffs the takedown attempt from McGoo. McGoo gets slowly back to his feet. Morgan avoids the head kick by McGoo.
McGoo throws a low kick but Morgan avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morgan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGoo as he jumps to the side. McGoo clinches up with Morgan and pushes him back against the cage. Morgan has had enough of the clinch but McGoo keeps him there for the moment. Morgan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. McGoo is trying to drag Morgan to the mat but Morgan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. McGoo tries to break free but Morgan pushes him back against the cage. Morgan lands an elbow just above McGoo 's eye. McGoo can't break the clinch.
Morgan is trying to pull guard but McGoo has him pressed against the cage. McGoo tries for a takedown. No joy.
Morgan is trying to maintain a safe position but McGoo gets an underhook and turns Morgan into the cage. McGoo with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Morgan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McGoo just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morgan fails to pull guard.
Morgan tries to stall but McGoo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Morgan pulls guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Morgan wants to improve his position but instead McGoo has moved into half guard.
McGoo content to control rather than advance. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Morgan wants to sweep but McGoo has passed to side control! McGoo working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGoo controls the position. McGoo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McGoo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! McGoo postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Morgan is breathing heavily. Morgan tries to bench press McGoo off him but McGoo keeps the position. McGoo staying calm.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGoo throws a strike aimed at the side of Morgan's head but Morgan avoids it well. McGoo trying to control the position but Morgan is working away. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Butch McGoo was stalling too much, according to the referee. Morgan stuffs the takedown. Morgan doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling McGoo to counter with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Butch McGoo dominated that round. The cut man is working on Irvin Morgan's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Morgan stuffs the takedown attempt from McGoo. McGoo gets slowly back to his feet. Morgan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McGoo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Morgan is in McGoo's guard. Morgan wants to control from the top but McGoo keeps moving. McGoo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Morgan defends it easily. Morgan wants to stand and escape but instead McGoo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Morgan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Morgan throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
McGoo passes into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGoo decides to return to a standing position. Irvin Morgan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Morgan fails with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McGoo misses with a combination
and Morgan counters with a left and a right that stings McGoo. McGoo shoots in looking for a takedown. Morgan tries to sprawl out of it but McGoo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morgan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Morgan fails with a takedown attempt. McGoo throws a head kick but Morgan moves out of range.
McGoo dives in and grabs Morgan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Morgan pushes down on McGoo's head and hops out. Irvin Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butch McGoo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGoo shoots for a double leg takedown but Morgan sprawls well. He's pushed McGoo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. McGoo misses with a double jab
and Morgan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Butch McGoo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McGoo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Morgan.
McGoo wants to clinch but Morgan slips to the side and Morgan counters with a right hand to the body. McGoo slaps away a takedown attempt from Morgan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Danga de danga de dang - McGoo scores with a four punch combination! McGoo scores to the head and body with a nice combination! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Morgan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGoo avoids it really well and circles away. McGoo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Morgan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McGoo somewhat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morgan gets the takedown into side control. Morgan has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. McGoo darts in looking for a takedown but Morgan gets double underhooks and turns McGoo into the cage. Morgan fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McGoo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Morgan is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. McGoo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morgan holding his opponent close, against the cage.
McGoo is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Morgan fails to land. McGoo tries to land knees in the clinch but Morgan avoids the damage to the body. Morgan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Both guys are working to get underhooks. McGoo pulls guard effortlessly. McGoo pushes Morgan off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McGoo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McGoo throws a nice looking combination but Morgan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Butch McGoo will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Irvin Morgan's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Morgan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McGoo is fending him off so far but Morgan persists. Nope, McGoo circles away and we're back to standing. McGoo pushes Morgan up against the cage in a clinch. Morgan is trying to pull guard but McGoo has him pressed against the cage. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. McGoo is trying to break the clinch but Morgan is controlling him. Good anti-grappling being displayed by McGoo as Morgan tries to tie him up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Morgan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McGoo smiles and moves away.
Butch McGoo seems to be getting the better of the standup. McGoo is looking to clinch but Morgan is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morgan shoots for a double leg takedown but McGoo sprawls well. He's pushed Morgan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. McGoo moves into the clinch. McGoo looking to throw knees to the head but Morgan is blocking nicely.
McGoo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Morgan is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but McGoo is keeping busy. McGoo tries to pull guard but Morgan holds him up against the cage and eventually McGoo drops back down to his feet.

Morgan wants to stand and escape but instead McGoo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. McGoo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Morgan, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGoo connects with a combination that backs up Morgan into the cage. McGoo lands a flurry of punches that gets past Morgan's guard. Morgan is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! McGoo bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
