Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Adao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adao blocks a head kick by Taylor.

Taylor shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Adao manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Taylor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Taylor landing some decent shots from guard.

Adao working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Taylor has passed into half guard!
Taylor wants to stand up but Adao is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taylor sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Adao on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Taylor perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Taylor is pressing down on Adao's thigh, looking to free his foot. Adao is holding on for now.

Jack Taylor has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Taylor shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Taylor wants to take a breather but Adao is having none of it.
Adao is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Taylor controlling the action here.

Adao is not content to let Taylor control the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jack Taylor was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Taylor has closed the distance and engaged Adao in a clinch.

Taylor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Adao uses from the top position.
Taylor throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Adao postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Taylor is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Adao, into his guard.
Taylor stands and throws Adao's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Adao looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Taylor scores with punches from side control.
Adao tries to escape but Taylor is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adao is breathing heavily.
Adao looks to move to half guard but instead Taylor has passed into mount! Damn!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Taylor fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Taylor dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Taylor bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Taylor creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Adao sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Taylor trying to control the position but Adao is working away.
Taylor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Taylor creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Taylor throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Taylor stands up and beckons Adao to his feet.

Taylor fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Adao, pushing him back against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Taylor has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Adao regains guard immediately.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Adao is working an open guard so Taylor takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Taylor gets a takedown into half guard.
Adao moves into full guard.
Taylor sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Taylor is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Taylor wants to pass the guard but Adao is keeping the position.

Taylor thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Taylor is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jack Taylor has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Taylor would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taylor stays in close to Adao's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jack Taylor.

Taylor takes the fight into the clinch.
Adao is trying to drag Taylor to the mat but Taylor just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Taylor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Taylor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Adao has gone for a leg lock! Taylor slips out almost immediately though and dives into Adao's guard.
Taylor works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Taylor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adao keeps working.

Taylor is working for a submission of some sort.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taylor content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Taylor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Taylor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Taylor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Adao managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Taylor.
Taylor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Taylor happy to just control the position for now.
Adao tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Taylor biding his time, looking for the opening.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Taylor is hanging on to Adao's back as he tries to escape.
Adao is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Taylor.
Taylor is punishing Adao with some ground and pound.
Taylor has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Adao.
Taylor scoring with big shots to the body. Adao is looking for a way out. A despairing look towards the ref and the official steps in to stop the fight. Adao was obviously done but didn't want to tap out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Taylor!
