Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikolaj Zgola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oscar Avila looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Oscar Avila! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mikolaj Zgola! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avila clinches up against the cage. Avila looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Zgola prevents Avila from breaking the clinch. Zgola drops down looking for an ankle pick but Avila pulls his leg out and moves away.
Zgola staying out of range there. Avila tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zgola sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Avila somewhat. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Zgola has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Zgola shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Avila's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zgola trying to control but Avila is working from the bottom. Zgola passes Avila's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Zgola is working for a kimura but Avila is defending it quite comfortably.

That's one minute gone in the round. Zgola content to control rather than advance. Avila avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Zgola. Zgola is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mikolaj Zgola hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Zgola misses with a takedown attempt - Avila sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for Avila with that takedown attempt. Zgola fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Oscar Avila has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikolaj Zgola. Avila slaps away a takedown attempt from Zgola, before circling back to the center of the mat. Avila tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zgola manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Avila defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zgola. Zgola shoots for a takedown but Avila saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Zgola gets the takedown into side control. Zgola trying to control the action but Avila is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zgola wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Avila, who protects the arm well. Zgola has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Avila! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zgola trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mikolaj Zgola dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zgola. Zgola dives in for a single leg takedown but Avila sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Zgola wants a takedown but no success here.
Oscar Avila has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikolaj Zgola. Zgola is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Avila pulls him back up using the underhooks. Avila stops a takedown attempt from Zgola.
Zgola is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Zgola is working for takedown but Avila is calmly controlling the position for now. Avila wants to break the clinch but can't.

Zgola feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Avila keeping moving, preventing Zgola from controlling successfully. Avila not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Zgola trying to control but Avila is working from the bottom. Avila utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Zgola tries to free his leg and advance position but Avila is retaining full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Zgola shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Avila as he jumps to the side. Zgola fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Zgola closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Avila to the mat! Avila manages to get full guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Avila is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Zgola stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Avila swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zgola controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Zgola passes into half guard. Zgola wants to pass the guard but Avila is defending well. Zgola is looking for a kimura but Avila is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zgola to get the leverage. Zgola throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Zgola wants to control but Avila is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zgola looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Zgola is looking for a kimura but Avila is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zgola to get the leverage. Zgola looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mikolaj Zgola showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

We've been hearing good reports from Avila's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Avila is squirming around, avoiding Zgola's attempts to control the action. Zgola content just to control the position here. Avila stops Zgola from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Zgola tries to control but Avila wriggling away. Avila is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zgola has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Avila's face.

Zgola cracks Avila with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Zgola might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Avila haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zgola cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Avila is bucking up trying to escape but Zgola cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Zgola working for a submission but Avila is keeping him at bay.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Avila is squirming around, avoiding Zgola's attempts to control the action. Zgola is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Zgola takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Zgola lands a heavy elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zgola can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Avila is looking to escape. Oscar Avila has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mikolaj Zgola is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Zgola controlling from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Mikolaj Zgola comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Zgola winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
