Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felix Alford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byron Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Byron Davis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felix Alford!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Byron Davis!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davis instigates a clinch.

Davis turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Davis manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Alford is looking to regain half guard here but Davis keeps moving and retains side control.
Davis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Alford gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Alford closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Davis did well to prevent Alford getting side control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Alford lands a nice short elbow.
Davis has a hand on Alford's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Alford takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davis can do anything to dispel that myth.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Alford with a couple of short strikes.
Davis is looking to improve his position but Alford isn't that keen on the idea.
Davis takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Alford is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Davis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Davis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Alford lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

BOOM! Alford connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Alford dives in for a single leg takedown but Davis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Davis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alford just stands there and leans against the cage.

Davis closes the distance and clinches up with Alford, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes Alford against the cage but Alford circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Alford tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alford manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Alford tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davis swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Alford misses with a takedown attempt - Davis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Davis is looking for a sweep. Alford is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Felix Alford.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Alford, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
