Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam Mckenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kieran Rodden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Mckenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kieran Rodden!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rodden is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mckenzie is on top in guard.
Rodden looking for a sweep. Not yet Rodden, not yet.
Mckenzie is in close to Rodden's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Rodden has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mckenzie has passed into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodden is trying to control Mckenzie's posture but Mckenzie avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mckenzie lands some shots froms side control.
Mckenzie throws a strike aimed at the side of Rodden's head but Rodden avoids it well.

Rodden wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Rodden is looking to regain half guard here but Mckenzie keeps moving and retains side control.

Mckenzie looks up at the clock and then as Rodden takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mckenzie smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rodden is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Mckenzie is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Mckenzie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rodden is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mckenzie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mckenzie scoring with strikes but Rodden is staying in there.
Mckenzie is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rodden can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Rodden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mckenzie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rodden tries to hold on but Mckenzie postures up.
Mckenzie postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rodden looks a forlorn figure.
The referee warns Rodden that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Mckenzie really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mckenzie is landing with some decent strikes but Rodden is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Rodden is rocked!
Mckenzie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rodden's face.
Rodden is still in real trouble! Can Mckenzie finish him?
Mckenzie controlling the pace for now.
Mckenzie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Mckenzie lands a big elbow - Rodden is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Rodden is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Sam Mckenzie!
Kieran Rodden was interviewed post fight and said 'Fall down 7 times, get up 8!'.
