The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ragnard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Ragnard leaves Peters with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Peters tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ragnard swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Efren Peters. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ragnard throws a left and a right that both miss
and Peters counters with a right hand to the body.
Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Peters fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ragnard to the ground. Peters is now in Ragnard's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Peters wants to stand but Ragnard is controlling his posture from full guard.
Ragnard can't keep his opponent in guard - Peters advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Peters wants to take a breather but Ragnard is having none of it.

Peters has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ragnard defend it? Peters steps over the head and cranks it - Ragnard is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Peters!
