Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chad Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dana Jigster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dana Jigster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chad Dawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dana Jigster!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson throws a body kick that misses.
Jigster tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jigster misses with a series of wild punches.
Jigster misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jigster pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Jigster with a lazy takedown attempt

and Dawson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dawson is nestled in close to Jigster, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jigster has hold of Dawson's hands but Dawson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Dawson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dawson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jigster trying to control from the bottom.
Dawson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Jigster is looking to get back to full guard here but Dawson has managed to pass to side control instead.

Jigster gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Dawson looking to control and managing it successfully.
Dawson landing strikes from the mount and Jigster is in trouble!

Dawson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Jigster tries to hold on but Dawson pushes him away.
Jigster is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dawson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jigster can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Dawson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Jigster manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Dawson stands up out of the half guard.

Jigster misses with a takedown

and Dawson counters with a shoot takedown. Jigster fights it but they end up in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dawson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A combination from Jigster does no damage.
Jigster tries to close the distance and clinch but Dawson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dawson clinches with his opponent.
Dawson lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Dawson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Decent striking displayed by Jigster there.

Dawson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jigster quickly recovers to half guard.

Dawson seems to be working for a kimura but Jigster defends the submission attempt.

Jigster is trying to stand.
Chad Dawson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dawson is controlling the pace.
Dawson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dawson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Jigster is looking for a sweep. Dawson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Still in half guard, Dawson seems content to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chad Dawson.
Jigster wants to clinch

and Dawson counters with a shoot takedown. Jigster fights it but they end up in guard.
Jigster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dawson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jigster swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dawson is looking to pass into half guard but Jigster pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Jigster is in guard.

Dawson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jigster is looking to work some ground and pound but Dawson has wrist control.
Jigster pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dawson is keeping the position for now.
Dawson controlling the position.
Jigster throwing strikes from guard but Dawson blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dawson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jigster doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jigster manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dawson pulls Jigster in close to his closed guard and prevents Jigster from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jigster throws an elbow that misses. Dawson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jigster's guard. Nice move by Dawson!

Dawson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Dawson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Jigster screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Dawson! Nice submission victory there!
