Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silvas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Silvas is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oscar Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silvas!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silvas gets a clinch.
Silvas working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.


It looks like Oscar Quinn has been cut.
Silvas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Quinn avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Quinn is looking for a takedown.

Quinn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silvas misses with a wild combination.
Silvas throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Silvas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Quinn avoids the head kick by Silvas.

Silvas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Silvas breaks the clinch.
Silvas tried to score with a low kick but Quinn checks it.

Silvas misses with a few strikes there.

Quinn takes the fight into the clinch.

Silvas pulls Quinn into guard.
Silvas wants to sweep but no luck.
Silvas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Silvas has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Quinn has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Silvas wants to stall.
Silvas drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Silvas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silvas falls off balance throwing a combination

and Quinn counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silvas won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Quinn lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Quinn just content to control the position.
An elbow from Quinn crashes against the mat.

Quinn swings around for an armbar but Silvas sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Quinn's guard.
Quinn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silvas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Quinn throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quinn tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Silvas trying to control the position but Quinn is working away.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Quinn is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Quinn tries to roll over but Silvas keeps him under control.

Silvas is pressing down on Quinn's thigh, looking to free his foot. Quinn is holding on for now.
Quinn tries to get to full guard but Silvas has control of the leg.

Silvas stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Quinn to get to his feet.
Silvas cracks the inside of Quinn's front leg.
Quinn dives in and grabs Silvas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silvas pushes down on Quinn's head and hops out.
Quinn is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silvas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quinn wants to clinch up but Silvas keeps it at a distance.
Quinn checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Anderson Silvas will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Oscar Quinn's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Silvas circles away from the clinch attempt

and Silvas counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Silvas.

Silvas breaks from the clinch.
Silvas shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Silvas has managed to clinch.
Quinn wants to break free but Silvas has control.

Quinn breaks from the clinch.

Silvas drives through and clinches with Quinn against the cage.
Silvas fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Silvas is trying to pull guard but Quinn has him pressed against the cage.
Oscar Quinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Silvas.

Quinn has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Silvas has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Quinn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Silvas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Quinn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silvas's waist but Silvas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quinn off to one side.

Silvas moves into the clinch.

Silvas breaks from the clinch.

Silvas has managed to clinch.
Silvas keeps control of Quinn as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Silvas takes a shot to the head.
Quinn gets underhooks to prevent Silvas's takedown attempt.
Anderson Silvas seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Silvas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silvas throws a nice looking combination but Quinn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Anderson Silvas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Silvas takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Silvas looks to land a combination but Quinn avoids it well.

A frustrated look appears on Quinn's face as he tries to break the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Quinn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silvas is fending him off so far but Quinn persists. Nope, Silvas circles away and we're back to standing.
Oscar Quinn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Anderson Silvas is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Quinn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silvas circles away quickly and effectively.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Oscar Quinn.
I think Silvas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
