Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kru Thorne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Havoc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kru Thorne looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kru Thorne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Havoc!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Havoc tries to clinch up but Thorne circles away and keeps his distance.
Havoc looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Thorne tries to clinch up.
Danny Havoc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Havoc throws a series of punches but Thorne avoids them all with ease.
Thorne tries to close the distance and clinch but Havoc swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Thorne throws a nice inside leg kick.
Thorne closes the distance but Havoc moves to the side

and Havoc holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Thorne breaks from the clinch.
Thorne tries a head kick but it misses.
Thorne will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Thorne closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Havoc is not content to let Thorne control the position.
Thorne tries to move to mount but Havoc blocks the move with his legs.

Thorne tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thorne has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Havoc is not content to let Thorne control the position.

Thorne decides to stand back up. Thorne steps back and let's Havoc get back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Thorne closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Thorne tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Thorne tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Havoc is looking to reverse the position.
Thorne tries to move to full mount but Havoc actually manages to regain half guard.
Thorne seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Havoc does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Thorne tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Havoc regains full guard. Nicely done.

Havoc had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thorne is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Havoc Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thorne's back instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Thorne is keeping busy.
Thorne has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
You can see the frustration on Thorne's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The fight stays on the outside here - Thorne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Thorne tries to clinch but Havoc moves out of range.
Thorne keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Havoc swats away the attempt to clinch by Thorne.

Thorne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Havoc keeps working.

Havoc is not content to let Thorne control the position.

Thorne is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Havoc is just riding it out for now. Thorne eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Thorne tries to pass the half guard into mount. Havoc knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Havoc swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Havoc keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Thorne is looking to clinch.

Havoc gets caught flat footed, as Thorne shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Thorne is looking to work some ground and pound but Havoc has wrist control.
Havoc can't keep his opponent in guard - Thorne advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Havoc is trying to get back to full guard.
Thorne tries to stand and escape but Havoc is controlling the position.
Thorne thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Thorne is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Thorne lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Havoc manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Havoc kicks Thorne off and gets back to his feet.

Thorne shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Havoc is looking to improve his position but Thorne isn't that keen on the idea.

Havoc tries to lock up and control but Thorne gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Havoc tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kru Thorne dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Havoc looks for a takedown but Thorne sprawls well.
Thorne shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Havoc pinned against the cage. Havoc gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Thorne misses with a head kick.
Havoc stuffs the takedown attempt from Thorne. Thorne gets slowly back to his feet.
Thorne shoots in for a takedown but Havoc shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kru Thorne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Havoc shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Havoc lands a couple of digs.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thorne is on top in guard.
Thorne postures up.
Havoc seems keen to control Thorne's posture.
Thorne wants to stand but Havoc is controlling his posture from full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Havoc manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Thorne manages to get himself to full guard.

Thorne stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Havoc keeps the fight on the outside.
Thorne will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Thorne takes the fight into the clinch.

Thorne jumps into guard, dragging Havoc to the mat.
Havoc postures up and lands a big shot to Thorne's brow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thorne is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Danny Havoc has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Thorne is trying to control the position but Havoc postures up.

I would just about give that final round to Danny Havoc.
Well Thorne has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
