The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a lazy right hand but Daugherty sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Alves tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alves throws a nice outside leg kick.
Daugherty shoots for a takedown but Alves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alves throws a hook but Daugherty avoids it easily.
Daugherty tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alves swivels and escapes.
Alves misses with a few strikes there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alves lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Daugherty fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alves avoids it really well and circles away.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Daugherty. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Alves goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Alves tries to land a front kick but Daugherty steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Daugherty closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alves did well to prevent Daugherty getting side control.

Alves ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Alves lands with a nice body kick.
Alves fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Alves Throws a clean left jab. Alves Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Daugherty's chin! Daugherty crumbles to the ground and Alves follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Alves!
