Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hank Reardon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Big Chis! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Reardon rushes Chis and presses him up against the ropes. Reardon lands an elbow inside. Reardon scores a nice knee to the body.
Reardon lands an elbow that stopped Chis in his tracks for a moment. Reardon lands an elbow inside. Nice elbow from Reardon. Chis jumps into guard, dragging Reardon to the mat.
Chis wants to stand and escape but Reardon is having none of it. Reardon trying to control but Chis is working from the bottom. Reardon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Reardon wants to pass the guard but Chis is keeping the position. Reardon trying to control but Chis is working from the bottom. Chis keeping busy on the bottom but Reardon has passed one foot through into half guard.
Chis looks gassed! Reardon is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reardon wants to take a breather but Chis is having none of it. Reardon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Reardon landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Nice strikes from Reardon there. Chis is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Reardon pulls his head out easily. Reardon winds up and cracks Chis with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Chis has hold of Reardon's hands but Reardon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Reardon drops an elbow to the side of Chis's head. Reardon drops an elbow to the side of Chis's head. Reardon trying to pass the guard but Chis defending well. Reardon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Reardon lands strikes from half guard. Chis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Reardon trying to pass the guard but Chis defending well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reardon winds up and cracks Chis with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Reardon slips a nice elbow through Chis's hands, connecting with Chis's forehead. Reardon drops an elbow to the side of Chis's head. Reardon is nestled in close to Chis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Chis wants to get back to full guard. Reardon lands with a punch from half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Reardon working the head and body with strikes. Chis is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Reardon scores with a couple of nice shots. Chis wants to improve his position but Reardon is controlling well.
Chis looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Chis is looking to get back to full guard here but Reardon has managed to pass to side control instead. Reardon with the ground and pound from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reardon working away from the top, dropping strikes. Reardon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chis is looking to escape. A nice elbow there by Reardon. Reardon connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Reardon landing strikes, looking to finish! Reardon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Reardon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Chis hang on? Chis is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Reardon with shots to the head and body - Chis looks very uncomfortable down there. The referee warns Chis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Chis is in all sorts of trouble here.
Chis wants to control but Reardon is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Reardon. Reardon landing strikes from the mount and Chis is in trouble! Reardon dominating with strikes here. Reardon postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chis looks a forlorn figure.
Chis in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Reardon lands a nice shot to the head. Reardon lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Chis hang on? Chis flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chis wants to control but Reardon is having none of it. Reardon looking to control but Chis is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Chis wants to control but Reardon is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hank Reardon dominated that round. That's time! Reardon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Chis blocks a jab. Reardon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Reardon landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. You can see the frustration on Chis's face as Reardon controls the position. Hank Reardon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reardon scoring with punches from side control. Chis is working to avoid the ground and pound but Reardon connects with a decent elbow. Reardon working the body and head with strikes. Chis manages to get back to half guard. Chis won't allow Reardon to pass to mount. Chis is looking for a sweep. Reardon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Chis taking some punishment here, with Reardon in his half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reardon connects with a nice short shot to Chis's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chis wants to get back to his feet. Reardon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Chis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Chis tries to roll over but Reardon keeps him under control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Reardon scores with the left hand. Chis knows he should have avoided that one. Chis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Reardon swings away with a leg kick that misses. Reardon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chis's head backwards. A punch combination from Chis misses. Reardon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Chis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Chis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reardon manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reardon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chis's guard. Chis throws a couple of heel strikes.
Reardon with a nice head shot there. Chis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Reardon scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Reardon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chis's guard. Chis wants to get back to his feet. Reardon working Chis over with strikes. Chis wants to get back to full guard but Reardon has passed into side control. Reardon with the ground and pound from mount. Reardon with shots to the head and body - Chis looks very uncomfortable down there.

Reardon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Chis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Chis works his way to full guard. Good work. Chis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Reardon lands a couple of digs. Reardon trying to control but Chis is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Chis working a defensive guard here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Reardon throws a looping overhand right but Chis ducks down to avoid it. Chis shoots and misses enabling Reardon to counter with a crisp jab. Reardon shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reardon was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Chis is bucking up trying to escape but Reardon cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The referee warns Chis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Chis tries to hold on but Reardon pushes him away. Chis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Reardon kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Chis is looking to improve his position but Reardon isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hank Reardon dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Reardon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chis, pushing him back against the ropes. Reardon throws an elbow but it misses.
Chis lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Chis blocks the elbow strike.
Reardon comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Chis looking for a takedown. Chis takes an elbow to the forehead. Reardon tries for a takedown but Chis manages to get underhooks.
Chis misses with a hook to the ribs.
Reardon gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chis is staying active underneath Reardon, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Chis wants to get back to his feet.
Reardon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Reardon stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Reardon has his takedown stuffed and Chis counters with a shoot takedown. Reardon fights it but they end up in guard. Chis throws a big right hand that misses. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Chis wants to pass the guard but Reardon is keeping the position. Reardon will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The fight moves into the clinch position. Chis is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Chis fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hank Reardon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Chis. Reardon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Chis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Reardon connects with a couple of short punches. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chis is on top in guard.
Reardon will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Chis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reardon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Chis throwing strikes from guard but Reardon blocks nicely. Reardon thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Reardon checks a low kick from Chis. Reardon moves into range and clinches up with Chis. Reardon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Chis looking to control.
Chis looking for a guillotine here but Reardon defends easily.
Chis is trying to keep Reardon in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chis wants to stand up but Reardon is controlling him. Reardon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chis is keeping the position for now. Big Chis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reardon scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Reardon cracks Chis with a solid left hand. Reardon keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Chis's head. Reardon is in close to Chis's body, working some short punches and elbows. Chis is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hank Reardon. Well Reardon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
