Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Armando Wriedt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Place Holder!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Wriedt.
Wriedt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wriedt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Holder shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wriedt manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Holder throws a big right hand that misses.
Holder controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Holder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wriedt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Holder is looking to advance position but Wriedt has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Holder is working to get back to half guard.
Wriedt looking to finish with strikes here!
Holder regains half guard.
Wriedt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Holder is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Holder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wriedt is working away from the top position though.
Holder is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Let's hope that Holder has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Wriedt prevents Holder from improving his position.
Holder is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wriedt jumps into side control!
Holder is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Holder is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wriedt off and has taken his back!
Holder throwing damaging strikes from the back! Wriedt could be in trouble here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Wriedt covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Holder lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Holder throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Wriedt!
Holder misses with an elbow to the head.
Holder slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Holder throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Holder is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Wriedt up.
Holder is landing with strikes from the back.
Holder has Wriedt flattened out and is raining down punches.

Holder is looking to finish with some ground and pound!


Wriedt is rocked!
Holder lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Oh Wriedt is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Holder has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Wriedt's body.

Wriedt is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Wriedt is breathing heavily.
Holder punches Wriedt on the ear.
Wriedt is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Holder.
Wriedt seems to have got his legs back now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Holder softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Holder is landing with strikes. Wriedt can't take much more of this.
Holder scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Wriedt is looking for a way out.
Holder lands a good shot there. Wriedt covers up! Holder smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Wriedt to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Holder jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Place Holder!
