Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swanson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Fight the power . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Swanson circles away.
Silva misses with a body shot.

Silva has closed the distance and engaged Swanson in a clinch.

Silva decides to pull guard.
Swanson throws a big elbow that misses.

Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Swanson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Swanson is proving a slippery customer.
Swanson is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Swanson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Swanson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!

Swanson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silva off and has taken his back!

Swanson is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Silva up.
You can see the frustration on Silva's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Swanson has the hooks in. Silva is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Silva rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Silva moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Swanson distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Silva lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Swanson!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Swanson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Swanson keeps trying to improve his position.

Silva is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Swanson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Swanson turns into him and now he's in Silva's guard.

Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Swanson's guard.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Swanson for as long as he can get away with.
Swanson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Swanson wants to sweep but no luck.
Swanson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swanson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Swanson controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ray Silva.
Swanson scores with a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Silva dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Swanson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Silva is looking for a sweep.
Silva sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Swanson is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Swanson to get the leverage.

Silva is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Swanson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Swanson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Swanson's back!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Silva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Silva sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Swanson taps out!
