And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bekas throws an overhand right that lands on Jamal's shoulder, as Jamal tries to avoid the shot.
Bekas shoots in but Jamal avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bekas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bekas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jamal defends it easily.
Jamal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bekas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jamal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jamal stands and throws Bekas's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jamal remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bekas sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Jamal wants to stand but Bekas has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Bekas actively working from the bottom here.
Bekas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jamal pulls his head out easily.

Bekas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bekas is looking to improve his position but Jamal isn't that keen on the idea.

Jamal lands a big shot there that rocks Bekas but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bekas fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jamal in particular looking to stall.
Jamal seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Jamal has hold of Bekas's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bekas seems comfortable defending it but Jamal has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bekas is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bekas is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jamal couldn't care less - he's delighted!
