Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ray Alfalla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Jo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Jo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Jo!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Alfalla has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Alfalla wants to control but Jo postures up.
Jo grinds an elbow into Alfalla's temple.

Alfalla is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jo connects with a decent elbow.
Alfalla is looking to regain half guard here but Jo keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ray Alfalla.

Jo shoots in looking for a takedown. Alfalla tries to sprawl out of it but Jo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alfalla manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Alfalla.
Jo tries to close the distance and clinch but Alfalla swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jo misses with a takedown
and Alfalla counters with an outside leg kick.

Jo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
