Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lex Layser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kantemir Gaunov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaunov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Layser wants to clinch.
Gaunov has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Layser is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Layser has control of Gaunov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gaunov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gaunov is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Layser is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gaunov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gaunov is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Layser locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Gaunov is forced to tap!
