Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Slyker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dawn Keebals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slyker comes to the cage accompanied by It's Amazing by Kanye West. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
31 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cain Slyker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dawn Keebals! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Keebals pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Slyker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Slyker dives in and grabs Keebals's left leg, looking for a takedown. Keebals pushes down on Slyker's head and hops out. Slyker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Slyker lands in his opponent's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Keebals preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Keebals avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Slyker is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Slyker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Slyker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Slyker with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Keebals working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Slyker. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Keebals wants to stand up but Slyker is controlling him. Slyker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Slyker working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slyker throwing strikes from guard but Keebals blocks nicely. Slyker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Slyker throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slyker with a flurry of punches that miss. Slyker throws a strike but Keebals rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Keebals seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Keebals throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Keebals controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Dawn Keebals has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Slyker blocks a jab. Cain Slyker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slyker avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Slyker is defended easily by Keebals. Slyker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Slyker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Keebals connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Cain Slyker has been cut. Slyker shoots for a double leg takedown but Keebals sprawls well. He's pushed Slyker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Slyker fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Slyker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Keebals sprawls well. Keebals wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slyker gets slowly back to his feet. Slyker tries to score a power double leg takedown but Keebals sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Slyker somewhat. Keebals slaps away a takedown attempt from Slyker, before circling back to the center of the mat. Keebals lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Keebals comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Slyker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Keebals throws out the jab. Keebals throws a body punch but Slyker moves out of range. Slyker shoots in looking for a takedown. Keebals tries to sprawl out of it but Slyker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Keebals manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Slyker is breathing heavily. Slyker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Keebals but Keebals pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slyker drops his hands momentarily and Keebals takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Keebals listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Slyker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Keebals is trying to defend but Slyker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Slyker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Keebals tries to kick Slyker off but Slyker keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Slyker throwing shots but Keebals is blocking nicely. Slyker prevents Keebals from standing back up.
Slyker not landing any meaningful shots this time. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Slyker landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Keebals can do anything to dispel that myth. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Slyker connects with a nice short shot to Keebals's temple. Slyker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dawn Keebals will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Cain Slyker's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Slyker closes the distance and clinches up with Keebals, looking for a takedown. Slyker pushes Keebals against the cage but Keebals circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fighters circle momentarily. Keebals darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Slyker is rocked! Keebals lands a brutal uppercut that launches Slyker off his feet! Slyker tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dawn Keebals! Dawn Keebals spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
