Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Demitri Borschtanoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Lennox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borschtanoff comes to the cage accompanied by Darude - Sandstorm. Demitri Borschtanoff has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demitri Borschtanoff! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Lennox! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lennox throws a low kick, looking for Borschtanoff's leg but Borschtanoff calmly moves out of range. Borschtanoff misses with a kick to the body.
Lennox lands a nice hook to Borschtanoff's body. Borschtanoff takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Lennox connects with a leg kick. Borschtanoff looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Lennox shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lennox was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Lennox wants to lay and pray for a moment but Borschtanoff keeps working. Lennox looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Borschtanoff is avoiding damage well.
Borschtanoff tries to improve position but can't. Borschtanoff gets back to half guard. Borschtanoff trying to hold on to Lennox's head to control him but Lennox postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lennox trying to control the action but Borschtanoff is working from the bottom. Lennox looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Lennox throwing shots but Borschtanoff is blocking nicely. Lennox takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Lennox trying to control from half guard but Borschtanoff is working away.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ray Lennox was stalling too much, according to the referee. Borschtanoff manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lennox on his heels. He'll look to pass Lennox's guard now, I'm sure. Borschtanoff postures up in Lennox's guard and throws a big left but Lennox blocks it. Borschtanoff stands up over Lennox, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Borschtanoff lands a couple of digs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Borschtanoff throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lennox works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Borschtanoff tries to free his leg and advance position but Lennox is retaining full guard. Borschtanoff stands up over Lennox, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Borschtanoff trying to control the position from guard on top but Lennox is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Borschtanoff postures up and lands a big shot to Lennox's brow. Borschtanoff has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lennox throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Borschtanoff escapes and throws Lennox's legs to the side, diving into side control! Lennox manages to get back to half guard. Borschtanoff is just content to waste time from the top position. Lennox takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Borschtanoff drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lennox looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lennox looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lennox! Lennox postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Borschtanoff is being controlled here. Lennox working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Lennox creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Borschtanoff sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Borschtanoff tries to control but Lennox manages to take his back. Borschtanoff avoids the strikes from Lennox. Lennox working for the choke. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Borschtanoff covering up well and avoiding damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ray Lennox will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nice defenses there by Borschtanoff. Borschtanoff is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Lennox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The fighters circling - Borschtanoff throws out the jab but it was never going to land. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lennox. Lennox looks to score with a jab to the body but Borschtanoff is just out of range. Borschtanoff pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Borschtanoff shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lennox manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Lennox looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Borschtanoff postures up and lands a big shot to Lennox's brow. Lennox has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Borschtanoff can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lennox keeping moving, preventing Borschtanoff from controlling successfully. Borschtanoff not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lennox wants to hit a switch here but Borschtanoff passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Lennox there! Borschtanoff lands a big shot there that rocks Lennox but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Borschtanoff tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Borschtanoff can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lennox is looking to escape. Lennox regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Borschtanoff looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Lennox actively working from the bottom here. Borschtanoff trying to control from Lennox's half guard. Lennox has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Lennox has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Borschtanoff is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lennox. Borschtanoff is working Lennox over with some ground and pound from side control.

Borschtanoff misses with the ground and pound. Borschtanoff creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lennox sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Lennox taking a bit of punishment here - Borschtanoff scoring with strikes. Borschtanoff wants to control but Lennox is keeping him busy. Lennox tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lennox manages to work his way to half guard, despite Borschtanoff's best efforts. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice strikes from Borschtanoff there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Demitri Borschtanoff dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lennox with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Borschtanoff to score with a decent uppercut. Lennox avoids the head kick by Borschtanoff.
Lennox swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A looping hook to the body misses from Borschtanoff. Lennox does a little dance to reset his feet. Borschtanoff closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Lennox tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Borschtanoff swivels and escapes. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Borschtanoff.
Lennox misses with a takedown attempt - Borschtanoff sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Borschtanoff shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lennox but Lennox pushes him off and we're back to square one. Borschtanoff scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Lennox uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Borschtanoff.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lennox walks forward, straight into a front kick from Borschtanoff. Borschtanoff fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Borschtanoff misses with the body kick and Lennox counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Lennox is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Borschtanoff sees it coming and defends easily. Lennox is trying to control the action in half guard but Borschtanoff is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Lennox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Borschtanoff with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Borschtanoff is looking to control Lennox's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Borschtanoff avoid being mounted? Borschtanoff is refusing to be controlled, as Lennox sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Borschtanoff keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Borschtanoff regains full guard. Nicely done. Borschtanoff wants to control the position but Lennox says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lennox lands a nice short elbow. Lennox passes to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Borschtanoff wants to control but Lennox postures up. Borschtanoff has one of Lennox's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Borschtanoff wants to get back to his feet but Lennox is dominant here and he's now got Borschtanoff's back! Borschtanoff wants to control his opponent's hands but Lennox gets his hands free. Borschtanoff is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Borschtanoff rolls, trying to escape but Lennox keeps control of the position.

A close third round but Ray Lennox just about did enough to take it. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Borschtanoff throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lennox sees it coming and avoids it easily. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Lennox crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Borschtanoff - the referee stops the clock and Lennox gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Borschtanoff. Lennox manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Borschtanoff throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lennox's head. Lennox throws an overhand right that lands on Borschtanoff's shoulder, as Borschtanoff tries to avoid the shot. Lennox blocks a head kick by Borschtanoff.
Borschtanoff throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Lennox misses with a right hand and Borschtanoff counters with a good low kick that Lennox was not able to check. Lennox throws the left hand but Borschtanoff avoids the punch easily. Borschtanoff throws a leg kick which misses Lennox's front leg but catches the back leg as Lennox tries to avoid it. Borschtanoff lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Borschtanoff throws a shot from downtown. Lennox moves away and avoids it. Borschtanoff is looking to score with low kicks. A bone on bone clash there as Lennox blocks the leg kick.

Borschtanoff throws a leg kick which misses Lennox's front leg but catches the back leg as Lennox tries to avoid it. Lennox's coach down at The Cooker was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lennox's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Borschtanoff connects with a single shot there. Both fighters circling a little - Borschtanoff finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Lennox pushes Borschtanoff away with a front kick. Borschtanoff throws a leg kick but Lennox checks it. Borschtanoff lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Lennox darts in and clinches Borschtanoff up against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lennox takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Borschtanoff blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Borschtanoff tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. A lull in the action here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Borschtanoff misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The fight is ruled a draw! Demitri Borschtanoff retains his title. It's always disappointing when a championship fight ends as a draw but that's what happens when you leave the fight in the judges hands!
