Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pablo Osvaldo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Sean Mccurdy! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mccurdy misses with a takedown and Osvaldo counters with a stiff right hand. Osvaldo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Osvaldo drags the fight down to the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Osvaldo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Osvaldo looking for a sweep. Not yet Osvaldo, not yet. Osvaldo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mccurdy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mccurdy looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Osvaldo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mccurdy trying to move into half guard but instead Osvaldo has managed to sweep! Mccurdy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Osvaldo! Osvaldo tries to control Mccurdy's body but Mccurdy pushes him off. Osvaldo squirms to his side and now Mccurdy has his back! Osvaldo tries to break free.
Osvaldo is working hard here to advance position. Osvaldo trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
That's two minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Osvaldo right now.
Osvaldo trying to control the action but Mccurdy just sinks the hooks in. Osvaldo wants to get back to his feet. Mccurdy wants to control but Osvaldo manages to buck him off and is now in Mccurdy's guard! Nice work there by Osvaldo! Mccurdy keeping moving, preventing Osvaldo from controlling successfully. Mccurdy is striking off his back. Osvaldo thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Osvaldo blocks the strikes from Mccurdy.
Osvaldo trying to pass the guard but Mccurdy defending well. Mccurdy is looking to get back to full guard here but Osvaldo has managed to pass to side control instead. Mccurdy tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Osvaldo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mccurdy in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Mccurdy wants to control but Osvaldo is having none of it. Mccurdy wants to get back to his feet.

Osvaldo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mccurdy's guard. Osvaldo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mccurdy wants to stand and escape but Osvaldo is having none of it. Mccurdy trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Pablo Osvaldo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mccurdy trying to keep a closed guard but Osvaldo is proving a slippery customer.

We're going to have a standup here because Pablo Osvaldo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mccurdy is looking to clinch but Osvaldo is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Osvaldo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Mccurdy taking some punishment here, with Osvaldo in his half guard. Mccurdy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Osvaldo pulls his head out easily. Mccurdy is trying to stand back up but Osvaldo is controlling him
Osvaldo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Osvaldo is looking to advance position but Mccurdy won't allow it. Osvaldo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Osvaldo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Osvaldo wants to take a breather but Mccurdy is having none of it. Osvaldo wants to get back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Osvaldo drops an elbow to the side of Mccurdy's head. Osvaldo is pressing down on Mccurdy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mccurdy is holding on for now. Mccurdy pushes Osvaldo off looking to stand but Osvaldo dives back in and keeps control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Osvaldo prevents Mccurdy from improving his position. Mccurdy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mccurdy flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Osvaldo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Mccurdy manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Osvaldo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mccurdy is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pablo Osvaldo. Osvaldo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Osvaldo working the head with strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Osvaldo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mccurdy keeps working. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Osvaldo is really struggling to control Mccurdy but he's trying to hold on to the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Osvaldo wants to work for an arm triangle but Mccurdy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mccurdy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Osvaldo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Osvaldo shoots in and gets a takedown into Mccurdy's guard. Osvaldo controlling from the top position. Osvaldo tries to free his leg and advance position but Mccurdy is retaining full guard. Osvaldo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Osvaldo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mccurdy for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pablo Osvaldo just wasn't active enough. Mccurdy dives in for a single leg takedown but Osvaldo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mccurdy is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Osvaldo to keep the fight standing. Osvaldo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

That's going to take a lot out of Sean Mccurdy. Osvaldo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Mccurdy can't fight it off and eventually Osvaldo manages to take the fight to the floor. Mccurdy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mccurdy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Osvaldo is one step ahead there. Osvaldo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mccurdy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mccurdy throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Osvaldo is squirming around, avoiding Mccurdy's attempts to control the action. Mccurdy prevents Osvaldo from getting the reversal. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sean Mccurdy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pablo Osvaldo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mccurdy goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Osvaldo turns into him and now he's in Mccurdy's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Pablo Osvaldo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Osvaldo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
