Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abraham Colon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Abraham Colon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abraham Colon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Colon moves into the clinch successfully.
Emelianenko tries to score a body lock takedown but Colon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Emelianenko is trying to push Colon away but Colon has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Emelianenko gets control of Colon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Emelianenko will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Emelianenko has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Colon off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Colon darts in and clinches Emelianenko up against the cage.
Emelianenko is trying to stall.
Colon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Colon is working for takedown but Emelianenko is calmly controlling the position for now.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Colon - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Emelianenko tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Colon just stands there and leans against the cage.
Colon wants to take the fight to the mat but Emelianenko manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Emelianenko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Colon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Colon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Colon shoots in but Emelianenko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Colon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Emelianenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Emelianenko misses with a straight left.
Colon misses with a few strikes there.
Emelianenko shoots in for a double leg but Colon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Colon misses with the combination.
Emelianenko dodges the punch combination from Colon.

Emelianenko rushes Colon and presses him up against the cage.
Colon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Emelianenko gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Emelianenko gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Colon is looking to control Emelianenko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Colon avoid being mounted?
Emelianenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Colon keeps working.
Colon is trying to control but Emelianenko manages to pass to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Emelianenko throws a wild left hand from mount and Colon manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fedor Emelianenko dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Emelianenko is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Colon's half guard.

Colon is looking to get back to full guard here but Emelianenko has managed to pass to side control instead.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Colon has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Emelianenko has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Colon wants to finish this one by submission but Emelianenko is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Colon.

Colon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Emelianenko wants to hold on but Colon pushes him away.

Colon is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Colon lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Abraham Colon will probably get the nod.

Colon throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Colon counters with a three punch combo that has Emelianenko backing up. Emelianenko nods at Colon to acknowledge the strikes.
Emelianenko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Colon is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Emelianenko.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Colon shoots in looking for a takedown but Emelianenko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Colon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Emelianenko. Colon shrugs it off though.

Fedor Emelianenko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Emelianenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
