Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cranky Mark! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Miller! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Miller. Mark does a little dance to reset his feet. Miller misses with a left hand so Mark counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Miller looking to control but Mark passes into half guard.
Miller wants to get back to full guard but Mark has mounted him! Miller is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Miller tries to get back to half guard but can't. Miller wants to control but Mark is having none of it. Miller tries to improve his position but instead Mark has taken his back! Mark keeps control of the position as Miller tries to break free.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mark slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Miller tries to escape but Mark has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Miller keeps trying to improve his position. Mark has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Miller's body.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller trying to control the position but Mark manages to sink in the hooks. Mark has decided that he can't make progress quickly enough from the back position and has rather unusually decided to stand up from the dominant position. Obviously he's going to be looking for the knockout on the feet here! A left lands for Miller. Mark slips a straight right by Miller. Mark showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Miller.
Miller throws a leg kick and Mark counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mark. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Miller controls Mark momentarily but Mark frees himself. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Miller was stalling too much, according to the referee. Miller throws a sloppy body shot
and Mark counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Miller is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Mark jumps into side control! Miller is trying to work for a sweep but Mark has mounted him! Miller tries to lock up and control but Mark gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Miller might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mark haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Mark stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Miller missing with a left hand there. Mark was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miller throws the left hand but Mark avoids the punch easily. Miller feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mark's calf. Mark avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A big left from Miller misses. Miller looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Miller misses with a body punch
and Mark counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Miller holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Miller is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mark gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Miller throws a one two combo.

and Mark counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Miller's guard now. Miller seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Miller looking to control.

Miller wants to control the position but Mark says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Miller controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. And that's the end of the fight! Cranky Mark showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mark, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
