Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between B rii Mc Auley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mc Auley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mc Auley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Sampson scores a takedown into full mount!
Mc Auley is looking to get to half guard.
Mc Auley is working hard here to advance position.

Sampson looking to control but Mc Auley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sampson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mc Auley really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Mc Auley wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Mc Auley rolls, trying to escape but Sampson keeps control of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mc Auley staying busy and making it hard for Sampson to control.
Mc Auley is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Sampson is looking to control Mc Auley but Mc Auley is wriggling around and keeping busy.
I really don't envy Mc Auley right now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sampson tries to get the hooks in deep but Mc Auley pushed the leg off.

Mc Auley is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
I really don't envy Mc Auley right now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sampson not allowing Mc Auley to control his hands.
Sampson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mc Auley.
Mc Auley is keeping busy.

Kirk Sampson dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Sampson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mc Auley to the mat! Mc Auley manages to get full guard.
Mc Auley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mc Auley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sampson's guard.
Mc Auley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sampson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sampson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mc Auley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Sampson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mc Auley to the mat! Mc Auley manages to get full guard.
Mc Auley wants to sweep here but Sampson controlling him for the moment.

Mc Auley has his foot on Sampson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sampson works his way back into a safe position though.

Mc Auley is looking for a triangle here but Sampson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Mc Auley looks to move to half guard but instead Sampson has passed into mount! Damn!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sampson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mc Auley is looking to escape.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kirk Sampson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Sampson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mc Auley wants to sweep here but Sampson controlling him for the moment.
Sampson postures up.

Mc Auley isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sampson stacks Mc Auley on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sampson!
Mc Auley is trying to work for a sweep but Sampson has mounted him!

Sampson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mc Auley is looking to escape.
Sampson moves to back control.
Sampson is hanging on to Mc Auley's back as he tries to escape.
What can Mc Auley do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sampson is trying to stick to Mc Auley's back but Mc Auley is turning into Sampson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sampson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mc Auley.
Sampson has Mc Auley pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kirk Sampson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sampson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
