Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sarkis Terteryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasputin comes to the cage accompanied by TURISAS - Rasputin. Terteryan has chosen Röyksopp - The Fear as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sarkis Terteryan! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rasputin tries to bum rush Terteryan with a series of wild strikes but Terteryan uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Terteryan shoots in but Rasputin avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rasputin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Terteryan is trying to defend but Rasputin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Rasputin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Terteryan has managed to free his arm - good work. Rasputin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Terteryan is trying to stand back up but Rasputin is controlling him
Rasputin decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Nice defenses there by Rasputin. Terteryan throws a combination that misses and Rasputin counters with a two punch combo. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big left from Terteryan misses. It looks like Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin has been cut. Terteryan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terteryan closes the distance and pushes Rasputin back into the cage. Rasputin has Terteryan pressed against the cage.
Terteryan goes for a takedown attempt but Rasputin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rasputin ducks under a wild hook from Terteryan. Rasputin tries to clinch but Terteryan is having none of it. Terteryan fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sarkis Terteryan. Terteryan shoots in for a takedown but Rasputin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab from Terteryan finds it's way through Rasputin's defenses. Terteryan swings for the body but Rasputin moves out of range.

Terteryan shoots in and drives through. Rasputin sprawls well. Terteryan is looking to chop away at Rasputin's legs. Rasputin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Terteryan swats him away and circles back towards the center. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rasputin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Terteryan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rasputin moves into full guard.

Rasputin looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Rasputin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Terteryan is aware though and is defending well. Rasputin trying to control the position.

Terteryan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rasputin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. My spies in Main Event Gym inform me that Terteryan has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Terteryan throwing strikes from guard but Rasputin blocks nicely. Rasputin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Terteryan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rasputin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Terteryan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Terteryan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rasputin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rasputin has escaped and now he's on top! Terteryan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rasputin wants to control from the top but Terteryan keeps moving. Terteryan seems keen to control Rasputin's posture. Rasputin trying to control the position from guard on top but Terteryan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Terteryan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rasputin is one step ahead there. Rasputin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Rasputin trying to control the position from guard on top but Terteryan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Terteryan kicks Rasputin off and gets to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rasputin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That was a close round but I would say that Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Terteryan looks to clinch and Rasputin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Sarkis Terteryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Terteryan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Terteryan wants to take a breather but Rasputin is having none of it. Terteryan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rasputin actively working from the bottom here. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin. A good leg kick by Terteryan. Rasputin closes the distance and pushes Terteryan back into the cage. Rasputin is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Rasputin changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Terteryan fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Terteryan throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sarkis Terteryan seems to be getting the better of the standup. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rasputin takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rasputin sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Rasputin wants to control but Terteryan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Terteryan trying to control the action but Rasputin is working from the bottom. Rasputin looking for submissions off his back. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The fighters are battling for position here. Rasputin is rocked! Terteryan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Oh Rasputin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Terteryan lands a couple of elbows. Terteryan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Terteryan postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Rasputin covers up, he's hurt! Terteryan keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Terteryan and the ref steps in to end the fight! Terteryan can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Sarkis Terteryan very nearly forgot to thank Das Labor amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name.
