Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Len Simon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stephen Weidman!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Weidman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Weidman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Weidman looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Simon passes into side control.
Weidman wants to get back to his feet but Simon drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Simon in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Weidman on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Simon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Weidman down.

Weidman takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Simon in side control lands a decent elbow.

Simon decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Stephen Weidman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Weidman clinches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Simon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Weidman up against the cage.
Simon keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Weidman's efforts to push away.
Weidman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Simon walks away with a smile on his face. Weidman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Weidman counters with a good low kick that Simon was not able to check.

Weidman is bucking up trying to escape but Simon cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Simon has the hooks in. Weidman is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Simon is landing with strikes. Weidman can't take much more of this.

Simon lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Weidman hold on?!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Simon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
