Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Titus Cochran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norberto Orozco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Titus Cochran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Norberto Orozco!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orozco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cochran throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Orozco shoots for a takedown but Cochran saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cochran really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Orozco checks a low kick from Cochran.
Orozco tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cochran swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Orozco fails in his attempt to clinch.
Norberto Orozco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Cochran counters by clinching up.

Orozco turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Cochran gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

and Cochran counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Titus Cochran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Norberto Orozco.

Cochran swats away the attempt to clinch by Orozco.

Cochran moves out of range of the body kick.
Cochran steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Orozco.
Cochran checks the leg kick nicely there.
Orozco misses the shot to the body.
Orozco looks for a takedown but Cochran sprawls well.

and Cochran counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Cochran steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Orozco.
Orozco doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Cochran counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Orozco's guard now.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

and Cochran counters by clinching up.
Orozco misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Cochran.
Cochran fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Cochran is trying to push Orozco away but Orozco has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Orozco has clasped his hands together around Cochran's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Norberto Orozco will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cochran avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Orozco ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Orozco no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Orozco is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Cochran tries to free his leg and advance position but Orozco is retaining full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Orozco can do anything to dispel that myth.
Orozco wants to stand and escape but Cochran is having none of it.
Cochran's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

We're going to have a standup here because Titus Cochran wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Cochran tries to clinch but Orozco is having none of it.
Cochran displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Orozco.
Orozco throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Orozco misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cochran stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cochran wants it to stay on the feet.
Orozco is breathing heavily.
Cochran avoids the head kick by Orozco.
Cochran lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Orozco tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cochran manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Orozco shoots and misses
and Cochran counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Titus Cochran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Norberto Orozco.
Cochran throws a head kick but Orozco moves out of range.

Orozco shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cochran manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Cochran bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Orozco's guard.
Cochran will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cochran wanted to stand there but Orozco had control of the position.

Cochran trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cochran is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Titus Cochran wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Orozco shoots in but no luck this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Orozco shoots in looking for a takedown but Cochran manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Orozco's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cochran is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Orozco misses with a wild body shot.
Orozco changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cochran tries to avoid it but Orozco manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cochran to the ground. Cochran escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Orozco closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Norberto Orozco will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Cochran stalks Orozco and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Orozco's face. Orozco staggers backwards, shaken.
Orozco wants to clinch
and Cochran counters with a two punch combo.
Orozco swinging wildly here.
Orozco dives in for a single leg takedown but Cochran sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Orozco breaks from the clinch.
Cochran moves in looking to clinch but Orozco pushes him off.

Orozco drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cochran trying to keep a closed guard but Orozco is proving a slippery customer.
Orozco takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Norberto Orozco hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cochran tries to clinch there but Orozco circles away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cochran is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Orozco slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Norberto Orozco wasn't active enough on the ground.

Cochran wants to control but Orozco is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Orozco not landing any meaningful shots this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Orozco feints and as Cochran raises his hands in defense, Orozco changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Orozco passes into half guard.
Cochran wants to improve his position but Orozco is controlling well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Norberto Orozco comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Orozco winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
