Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Ratliff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adli Pachan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas Ratliff has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Douglas Ratliff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adli Pachan!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pachan lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ratliff changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pachan tries to avoid it but Ratliff manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pachan to the ground. Pachan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ratliff looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Pachan!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pachan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ratliff asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Ratliff is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Ratliff seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pachan for as long as he can get away with.
Pachan is trying to get back to his feet but Ratliff has full control of the position and if anything, Pachan has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Ratliff is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pachan's half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Douglas Ratliff wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Pachan misses with a kick to the body.

Ratliff throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pachan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ratliff is in Pachan's guard.
Douglas Ratliff overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pachan is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Ratliff has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Pachan is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Pachan connects with a solid leg kick.
Ratliff throws a series of punches but Pachan avoids them all with ease.
Ratliff shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pachan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ratliff moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ratliff, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
