Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stanislav Qnev! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Darius Henderson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva is looking to clinch. Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch. Qnev tries for a takedown but Silva manages to get underhooks.
Silva pulls guard. Qnev is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Qnev wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Qnev postures up.
Qnev wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Qnev takes a decent strike to the side of the head. Qnev seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Qnev drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Qnev off! Qnev jumps back into Silva's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Qnev wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Silva not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Qnev trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Qnev controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Qnev avoids the head kick by Silva.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Qnev looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Qnev on the ground. Qnev is not content to let Silva control the position. Silva is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Qnev keeping hold of Silva's head, controlling as best he can. The fighters are battling for position here. Qnev manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Qnev is pulling down on Silva's head. It's preventing any offense from Silva, at least for the moment. Silva trying to control but Qnev is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Qnev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Qnev controlling the position. Silva is stalling in the full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Qnev wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Stanislav Qnev will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Silva darts in and clinches Qnev up against the cage. Silva avoiding damage.
Silva gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Qnev is retaining full guard. Silva being controlled here momentarily.

Stanislav Qnev has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Silva tries for a takedown but Qnev circles away easily and Qnev counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Qnev frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Qnev goes for an armbar but Silva turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Silva. Qnev seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Qnev is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Silva frees his head nicely. Oh but Qnev has switched to an armbar! Silva is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
