Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rafael Almeida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Schloash Ylurner!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ylurner scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Rafael Almeida has been cut.
Almeida has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Almeida is rocked!
Ylurner misses with a head kick.
Ylurner misses with a body kick.
Almeida closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ylurner's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Almeida trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ylurner looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Almeida puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Almeida is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ylurner is just riding it out for now. Almeida eventually gives up the hold.
Ylurner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Almeida decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Ylurner tries to bum rush Almeida with a series of wild strikes but Almeida uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ylurner lands a left and a right that send Almeida crashing to the mat, dazed. Ylurner thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Almeida is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ylurner has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Schloash Ylurner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ylurner Throws a clean left jab. Ylurner Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Almeida's chin! Almeida crumbles to the ground and Ylurner follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Ylurner!
