Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapda Mattus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mattus comes to the cage accompanied by My heart. Tapda Mattus looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rick Johnson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mattus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mattus moves into the clinch. Mattus has Johnson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Johnson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Johnson is trying to push Mattus away but Mattus has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Johnson working hard to break the clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Mattus - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Johnson tries to break the clinch but Mattus is controlling the position. Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mattus has him pressed against the cage. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mattus. Mattus trying to mount his opponent but Johnson defends it. Mattus wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Mattus is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Mattus winds up and cracks Johnson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mattus is looking for submissions but instead, Johnson has regained full guard.

Mattus is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mattus is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Mattus throws a strike but Johnson avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mattus tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard. Tapda Mattus is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
