Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Bellic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maximo Contino!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contino looks for the body kick but Bellic saw that one coming.

Contino bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bellic tries to buck Contino off but Contino is having none of it.
Bellic sneaks back into half guard.
Contino wants to stand but Bellic has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Contino looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bellic is staying active underneath Contino, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Contino tries to stand but can't do so whilst Bellic controls his leg.

Bellic is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Contino's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Contino's back!
Bellic slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Bellic's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bellic will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Contino shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bellic sprawls well. Bellic wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Contino gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bellic drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Bellic dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bellic stuffs the takedown attempt from Contino. Contino gets slowly back to his feet.
Bellic swings for the body but Contino moves out of range.
Bellic looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bellic fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Contino manages to avoid it.

Contino tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bellic swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Bellic avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Contino shoots in but no luck this time.
David Bellic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maximo Contino.
Contino throws a series of punches but Bellic avoids them all with ease.
Contino lands with a thumping leg kick.
No luck for Contino with that takedown attempt.
Contino throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bellic's waist but Bellic gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Contino off to one side.
Contino is breathing heavily.
Contino misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Contino swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Bellic counters with a stiff right hand.

Bellic looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Contino trying to control here.

Contino is trying to get back to full guard.
Bellic trying to pass the guard but Contino defending well.
Contino tries to roll over but Bellic keeps him under control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bellic content to control rather than advance.
Contino keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Bellic is nestled in close to Contino, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bellic is controlling the pace.
Bellic trying to advance position but Contino counters by regaining guard.

Contino is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Bellic has his hands clasped together but Contino extends and breaks Bellic's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Contino.
