Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nanaki Yotomishi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Shafer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shafer comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Big Shit Poppin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Nanaki Yotomishi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Shafer!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yotomishi tries to clinch up but Shafer circles away and keeps his distance.
Yotomishi wants to clinch.
Yotomishi darts in looking for a takedown but Shafer gets double underhooks and turns Yotomishi into the cage.
Yotomishi has Shafer pushed against the cage.
Shafer can't break the clinch.
Shafer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shafer blocks a body shot from Yotomishi.
Yotomishi displaying some good clinch control by pressing Shafer up against the cage.
Yotomishi gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shafer.

Shafer breaks the clinch.
Shafer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yotomishi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shafer somewhat.
Nanaki Yotomishi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Shafer.

Shafer pushes Yotomishi up against the cage in a clinch.

Shafer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shafer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Shafer moves into range and clinches up with Yotomishi.
Shafer is trying to break the clinch but Yotomishi has him pressed against the cage.
Yotomishi stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Shafer goes for a takedown attempt but Yotomishi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Yotomishi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shafer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Shafer lands with a good body shot.
Yotomishi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shafer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Shafer shoots in but Yotomishi avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Shafer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The fighters are battling for position here. Yotomishi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shafer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Yotomishi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Shafer throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shafer wants to control from the top but Yotomishi keeps moving.
Yotomishi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Shafer looks like he's trying to stand up.

Yotomishi passes to side control.

Yotomishi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shafer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Yotomishi passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Shafer!
Shafer trying desperately to get to his feet.
Yotomishi misses with a head shot.

Yotomishi is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Yotomishi!
