Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Burton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruben Valderon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valderon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Burton tries to clinch but Valderon moves out of range.
Burton jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Burton blocks a head kick by Valderon.
Burton chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Valderon keeps the fight on the outside.
Burton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Valderon circles away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Burton.
Burton slips a jab and a cross from Valderon.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Burton has Valderon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Burton pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Valderon tumbling to the mat - Burton dives into Valderon's guard.

Burton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Burton tries to free his leg and advance position but Valderon is retaining full guard.
Valderon wants to stand and escape but Burton is having none of it.

Valderon can't keep his opponent in guard - Burton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Burton is trying to work for a kimura but Valderon is defending well.
Burton passes to side control.
Burton is working Valderon over with some ground and pound from side control.

Valderon wants to get back to his feet.
Valderon looks gassed!
Valderon is not content to let Burton control the position.
Burton scores with punches from side control.

Burton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Valderon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Valderon is trying to buck Burton off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Burton advances to full mount.

Burton won't let Valderon get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Burton lands a big shot there that rocks Valderon but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Burton looking to control but Valderon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Valderon wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Burton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Valderon is looking to escape.
Valderon is trying to stand.
Burton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Burton has hold of Valderon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Valderon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Burton lands a big elbow.

Valderon defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Burton.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Burton fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Burton moves into range and clinches up with Valderon.

Burton pulls guard.

Burton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Valderon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Valderon gets to his feet. Burton looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Valderon misses with a wild combination.
Valderon tries to bum rush Burton with a series of wild strikes but Burton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Burton doesn't manage to clinch there - Valderon circles away.
Burton fails in his attempt to clinch.
Burton shoots in for a takedown but Valderon shows good takedown defense.
Valderon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Burton slips under a jab from Valderon.
Valderon is breathing heavily.
Burton dodges the punch combination from Valderon.

Burton feints and as Valderon raises his hands in defense, Burton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Burton cracks Valderon with a solid left hand.
Burton trying to control but Valderon is working from the bottom.

Burton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Valderon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Burton wants to control from the top but Valderon keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Burton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Burton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Burton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Valderon.
Burton tries to close the distance and clinch but Valderon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Burton lands with a thumping leg kick.
Burton misses the shot to the body.

Burton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Burton has isolated one of Valderon's arms. Valderon looking to fight him off but Burton twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jack Burton!
