Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommie Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colt Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gunn's entrance music is Don't Shoot Shotgun. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommie Gunn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Colt Compton! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Compton steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gunn. Compton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Nice body punch from Gunn. Gunn lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
It looks like Colt Compton has been cut. A big left from Compton misses. Compton throws a leg kick that is checked and Gunn counters with a nice double leg into guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Gunn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Compton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gunn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Compton wants to stand but Gunn is controlling the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gunn content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Gunn throws a strike but Compton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gunn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Gunn controls Compton momentarily but Compton frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gunn manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gunn wants to control the pace but Compton is squirming around nicely. Compton avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gunn.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Compton's face.
Compton in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Gunn thowing shots but they're missing. Gunn punching from mount but Compton doing a good job of avoiding damage. Gunn sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Compton is squirming around, avoiding Gunn's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gunn putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Gunn looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Compton tries to hold on but Gunn postures up. Compton is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gunn scoring with strikes but Compton is staying in there. Gunn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Compton is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tommie Gunn dominated that round. The cut man is working on Colt Compton's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Compton takes one to the side of the head.
Gunn connects with a leg kick. Compton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Compton gets a clinch. Compton lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gunn. Compton blocks a body shot from Gunn. Gunn softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes. Compton tries to throw a body punch but Gunn avoids it by throwing Compton back against the ropes. Gunn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Compton wants to clinch up but Gunn keeps it at a distance. A slow jab from Compton misses its intended target. Gunn checks a leg kick nicely. Compton throws a low kick but Gunn moves out of range easily. Compton throws out a leg kick but Gunn moves out of range and Compton only half commits. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Compton in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Compton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gunn. Compton looks to land a right hand but Gunn moved out of range. Gunn cracks Compton with an open hand slap.
That's one minute gone in the round. Compton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Compton tried to score with a low kick but Gunn checks it. Gunn looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Compton throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Compton tries to close the distance and clinch but Gunn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Compton thows a leg kick but Gunn checks it and Gunn counters with a nice double leg into guard. Gunn stopping the sweep attempt from Compton. Gunn trying to control the position from guard on top but Compton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gunn is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gunn wants to pass the guard but Compton is keeping the position. Compton looking for a sweep. Not yet Compton, not yet. Gunn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Compton looking to control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gunn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gunn trying to control the position from guard on top but Compton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Compton takes one to the chin there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn lands an overhand right. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gunn checks a leg kick. Gunn avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Gunn scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Gunn lands a leg kick that knocks Compton off balance momentarily. Compton avoids the body shot from Gunn.
Gunn feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Compton's calf. Gunn chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Compton can pounce on him.
Compton throws a leg kick but Gunn sees it coming and checks it nicely. Compton throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gunn. Gunn blocks a leg kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Good leg kick by Gunn there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gunn moves out of range of the leg kick from Compton. Gunn swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Compton. Gunn lands a nice leg kick that just misses Compton's sensitive parts. Gunn misses with a body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Compton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gunn blocks the body kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gunn, as that shot connected.
Gunn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Compton is trying to defend but Gunn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Gunn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gunn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Compton wants to get back to his feet.
Compton avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gunn. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tommie Gunn dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Colt Compton's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Compton throws a low kick but Gunn avoids it. Compton throws a leg kick that misses. Gunn defending well as Compton loads up on a big left hand. Gunn throws a solid leg kick but Compton takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gunn. Compton thows a leg kick but Gunn checks it and Gunn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Compton's guard. Compton has his feet on Gunn's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. The fighters circle momentarily. Gunn darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gunn. Gunn misses with a straight right. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Compton. Compton is looking to chop away at Gunn's legs. Compton staying out of range there. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gunn throws a low kick but it's checked well by Compton. Gunn checks a leg kick nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Compton throws a jab but it's blocked by Gunn. Compton lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gunn scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A chopping leg kick lands by Compton. Gunn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Compton counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Gunn tries to work over Compton's front leg with a kick but Compton checks it. A jab from Gunn misses. Compton is looking to land body kicks. Compton misses with a low kick.
A shot to the liver by Gunn. Beautiful body shot. Gunn blocks a leg kick. Compton misses with a leg kick. Compton throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Compton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Gunn drives through with a takedown into Compton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Compton pulls Gunn in close to his closed guard and prevents Gunn from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Compton keeping moving, preventing Gunn from controlling successfully. Compton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Compton wants to stand and escape but Gunn is having none of it. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Compton lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gunn! Colt Compton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gunn tries to hold on but Compton pushes him away. Tommie Gunn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gunn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gunn tries to lock up and control but Compton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gunn sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Compton wants to stand up but Gunn is controlling the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gunn moves out of range of the leg kick from Compton. Gunn checks the leg kick. Compton throws a head kick but Gunn moves out of range.
Gunn dives in and grabs Compton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Compton pushes down on Gunn's head and hops out. A punch lands to the side of Compton 's head but he takes it in his stride. Gunn moves out of range of the leg kick from Compton. Gunn scoring well with a low kick there.
Gunn moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gunn jabs Compton right on the nose. Compton blinks but takes it well. Gunn throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Compton looks to throw a body kick and Gunn counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Tommie Gunn showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gunn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
