PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blas Kavcic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcolm Master (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Master has chosen Master of Puppets as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Blas Kavcic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Malcolm Master!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kavcic tries to sprawl but Master drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kavcic blocking the ground and pound attempt from Master.
Kavcic wants to improve his position but Master is controlling well.
Kavcic trying to control from the bottom.
Master not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Master has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at The Cave Fighting Team. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Master looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Kavcic is not content to let Master control the position.
Master thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kavcic's head.

Master is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kavcic defends it well.

Master is looking for a kimura but Kavcic is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Master to get the leverage.

Kavcic bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Master's guard.

Master is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kavcic is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Master keeping moving, preventing Kavcic from controlling successfully.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kavcic tries to move to mount but Master blocks the move with his legs.
Master tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kavcic presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Kavcic can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Master is looking to escape.
Master is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Master is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kavcic wants to control the pace but Master is squirming around nicely.
Kavcic is landing with some decent strikes but Master is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Master tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kavcic swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Master is now in Kavcic's guard. A big mistake from Kavcic there, giving up the dominant position!

Kavcic pulls Master in close to prevent any damage.

Kavcic's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kavcic shoots in and bounces Master off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
