Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Matsuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Max Gracie enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Matsuo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries for a takedown but Matsuo circles away easily

so Matsuo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Matsuo throwing strikes but missing.
Matsuo trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Matsuo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jay Matsuo just wasn't active enough.
Matsuo shoots in but no luck this time.

Gracie misses with a two punch combination.

Matsuo pushes Gracie up against the cage in a clinch.
Matsuo prevents a takedown attempt there.

Matsuo jumps into guard, dragging Gracie to the mat.
Gracie is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Matsuo is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea.
Matsuo wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment.
Matsuo pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.
Matsuo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Gracie tries to bum rush Matsuo with a series of wild strikes but Matsuo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Gracie gets caught flat footed, as Matsuo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie is trying to keep Matsuo in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jay Matsuo.
Matsuo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Matsuo which made him look bad.

Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Matsuo avoids it really well and circles away.
Matsuo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gracie but Gracie pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Max Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Matsuo stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Gracie looks to land a right hand but Matsuo moved out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matsuo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Matsuo off to one side.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matsuo circles away.

Matsuo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Matsuo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Matsuo is taking a breather. Gracie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Matsuo is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Matsuo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Matsuo is working for a submission of some sort.

Gracie tries to get to full guard but Matsuo has control of the leg.
Matsuo is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Matsuo is keen to just control but Gracie is a slippery customer.

Gracie pushes Matsuo off looking to stand but Matsuo dives back in and keeps control.

Matsuo decides to stand and escape the position.
Jay Matsuo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gracie defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Matsuo.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matsuo is looking for a sweep.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Matsuo, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matsuo sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but Matsuo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Max Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jay Matsuo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Matsuo manages to get to full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Matsuo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
